You’re looking at our Webby Traffic site right now. It’s created in Squarespace, as are all of our client sites, and optimized for SEO. It’s intentionally simple and straightforward highlighting how to achieve the key purposes of a website: pulling traffic to it (seo built into the site and pages and not obvious to the viewer), providing engaging text, and motivating a targeted “call to action.” We, of course, can create more involved websites depending on your needs.
TEDxPaloAlto
We created TEDxPaloAlto from scratch to replace an existing site. When you do this, or create new pages to replace previous pages, it’s very important to keep the same URLs (each individual website page address), or create “permanent redirects,” to retain the search engine value that has built up over time.

Here's one example of a website that needed serious help. It was over 10 years old when this small non-profit organization asked us to update it without changing their design. They wanted to focus their financial resources on functionality and driving traffic to the site. It has about 50 active pages and another 50 previously used pages stored for re-use when needed. It had about 200 broken links which we discovered and fixed. It had outdated information which we updated. It didn't have SEO (Search Engine Optimization) properly set up on most of the pages so we fixed this. We also added new features to their website for ticket sales to events, donations, and memberships.

We resized and compressed, without losing image quality, numerous images to significantly speed up the site response. We also optimized other aspects of the website for speed. They also wanted to promote a specific service so we did the proper keyword research then wrote an article using the proper number of each of various keywords. For this service, they were originally ranked on more than the 1000th listing (100th page). Regardless of what others may tell you, the reality is that it takes time to get ranked for a term that is competing against numerous highly ranked sites that have been highly ranked for this common search term for many years. However, the work we did brought them up to between the 25th to 40th position (3rd to 4th page, different searches come up differently) within six months. And within nine months, the position improved to the 18th position putting them on the second page of search engine results. This will continue to improve over time.
However, for other “long tail” keywords, that is, ones that get significant traffic but not the very highest traffic, they now rank 3rd, 6th, and 8th (all on page 1) for a variety of search phrases. They have seen improvement in inquiries with these improvements in SEO.
